When Michael A. Geyer Architect was established 25 years ago, we envisioned a full-service firm dedicated to listening to our clients needs. That could mean respectful additions to older structures, faithful expansion and reinterpretation of the work of other designers, or simply making fantasies come true.
That commitment — being the interpreter of our clients' vision — remains true today as demonstrated by our extensive portfolio which spans all aspects of design, construction and furnishings for our residential and commercial clients. As a husband/wife team our contribution to our clients is adding a balance of elements, be it a casual or classical design.

Nearly two-thirds of our overall practice is residential. Recent work includes the careful renovation and restoration of the former Versace townhouse just off Fifth Avenue. Though unusual in scope, the completed home represents our client's interest in maintaining the spirit of the Versace interior, while tailoring the house to meet his own needs. Other work in recent years includes renovating townhouses in historic neighborhoods in the Village, the Upper East Side and Chelsea; and, new homes mid-Long Island and the East End.
The largest and most challenging sector of our practice is designing, combining and reconfiguring residential apartments in Manhattan. Our portfolio includes dozens of pre-war Upper East Side residences in some of the district's best buildings. In the process we have become expert at assisting our clients through the complex process imposed on owners and shareholders by condominium and coop boards, during the review and approval of construction plans.
Our diverse practice includes a number of office interiors, doctors' offices, store interiors, including work on Rodeo Drive and Union Square in San Francisco, cafes, residential lobbies and renovating building exteriors.
